Today's card is a bit experimental! I wanted to play around with white embossing powder and stamping patterns over a design.
I started by stamping my Elephant from the Chocolate Baroque set. I stamped and embossed onto white mat cardstock in Versamark. Next I stamped with the flower from the same set around the surrounding area. Finally I stamped using the Creative Expressions Chicken Wire stamp. I then covered the card with white embossing powder and heated it.
Next I dabbed some Distress Inks onto my craft mat - Seedless Preserves, Mowed Lawn, Spiced Marmalade, Fired Brick and Broken China. I painted my elephant body with water and then added broken china ink. I painted the cover and chair in seedless preserves. I then again painted with just plain water over the background area and randomly added colours - by adding the water first this helps the colours to spread and blend. Once the area was covered I cut a white card to mat it onto and then a larger mat which I painted seedless preserves around the edge.
I spritzed by craft mat with water over the remaining Distress Ink and then inked up my chicken wire stamp to stamp randomly on my 5x7" card blank. Once dry then I assembled my layers and put the card together.
This is definitely a technique I will play with again as I think different stamps will give different results - but fun to play with!
happy crafting
